I offer counselling sessions with emphasis not just on talking but also paying attention to your body feedback and instinctual wisdom as we explore whatever topic is most important to you in a focused 50 minute session. This is a counselling space for you to be seen, heard and witnessed just as you are, get things off your chest, be raw, honest, messy and ignite the soul fire in your bones to be more of yourself and confident in making your own choices in life. I call this type of supportive work - Roar Mojo. As an integrative counsellor I can draw upon various therapeutic approaches to tailor our sessions to help you explore your problems and life challenges. This means I can use a flexible and tailored approach, taking account of you as a person, your communication style and your circumstances as we work together. You may have a specific focused issue to explore and develop coping mechanisms with in short term therapy. Or you may be looking for counselling support over a longer period of time. We can discuss this in a free consultation. Roar Mojo Counselling can offer a useful opportunity for a self-discovery and self acceptance as well as focusing on making and embracing change simultaneously. |

Approach
Using a variety of counselling models, embodied listening skills and tools gathered from years of working in the field of communication, counselling, mentoring, birth work, meditation and life experience, I use my counselling skills along with patience, presence, eye contact, astute tracking, humour and warmth to support you share what's on your mind, in your heart and make sense of it at your own pace.
With my experience as a birth worker, parent, and my ongoing collaboration with intimacy coach Kalindi Jordan, people often seek me out to work with them through transition times in their life such as pregnancy to mother, the postnatal year, going back to work, exploring relationships and sexuality. Themes which I often explore with others include pregnancy and birth, parenthood, mid-life changes, intimacy, love, sex and relationships.

Jolie Compton is a Counsellor, Birth Doula, EFT, and Matrix Reimprinting practitioner with experience as a trained Yoga Nidra Meditation facilitator.
After working as a Birth Doula from 2009 Jolie supported women and families in a variety of birth and parenting experiences. She also provided a talking and relaxation circle for women using Yoga Nidra Meditation. From 2016 Jolie took on the role as a personal assistant to Kalindi Jordan - an international women's sexuality and intimacy healing coach. This ignited her ongoing exploration and interests around themes of intimacy, sexuality, relationship and somatic embodiment in therapy. Jolie drew her skills, experiences and interests together to train as an Integrated Counsellor and has provided counselling in an agency setting and works with clients privately. In 2021 Jolie co-facilitated the first On Becoming A Mother pregnancy retreat with Olivia Seck to offer a fresh approach to exploring the transitition to motherhood in post covid times.
Inspired by the work of relationship therapist Esther Perel, the poetry of tantric feminine mystic Maya Luna and meditation work of Dr Joe Dispenza, Jolie is endlessly curious about the relationships we form with ourselves and others as we move through various life transitions.

Jolie's skill area
Counsellor
Jolie is an intergrated counsellor with a variety of skills and creative approaches to explore issues and facilitate behavioural change. As someone who is often approached to listen to issues of the heart with both women and men, Jolie is comfortable to listen and provide a non judgmental supportive and playful space to explore issues of the heart and relating. Common themes are often connected to identity, relationships, sexuality, motherhood, and life transitions.
Birth Doula
Jolie trained with Olivia Seck founder of Birthing Wisdom and began working as a birth doula in 2009. She supported couples, and single women birthing in their homes, at birthing centres and in hospital births, provided antenatal classes, birth story debriefing sessions and spent time supporting families on the labour and postnatal wards as a doula volunteer in her local hospital. She was also an assistant and mentor on the Birthing Wisdom doula training program.
Birth and motherhood offers Jolie an ongoing focus of self enquiry. She has explored many ways of working with trauma, hyponosis and creative strategies to prepare for birth and motherhood. She has experienced what it was like to have two homebirths, raise her children in a family unit and as a single parent and is empathetic and understanding around the various pressures surrounding daily family life.

Yoga Nidra Meditation Facilitator
Yoga Nidra is a form of sleep meditation that addresses both physical exhaustion and emotional healing simultaneously. It puts us back in touch with our inner landscape and helps give us clarity and ignite our creativity and inner spark.
Yoga Nidra was a perfect tool to discover as a tired postnatal mother because it addressed physical exhaustion, emotional release, trauma resolution and making regular contact with the soul voice. It is a great healthy practise to bring in more calm and connection, and bring out one's Roar Mojo!
Jolie was trained by James Reeves in iRest Yoga Nidra, and Karen Brody's Daring to Rest Yoga Nidra Meditation program. Jolie has provided Yoga Nidra for women's circles and also enjoys tailoring 1-1 nidras on request.
